The Rules:

Gather friends (if applicable) around the television. Place alcoholic drinks within easy reach. Watch "ER" drinking when instructed to by the following rules. In case of confusion over whether or not to drink, always err on the side of drinking. Enjoy!


Take a sip if:

  • Benton takes over someone else's procedure.
  • Benton misses a family engagement.
  • Benton says something sarcastic.
  • Benton lets Carter do something new.
  • Carter introduces himself as John Carter.
  • Carter flirts with another medical student.
  • Carter gets something right first time.
  • Carter is the victim of a practical joke.
  • Carter shows off in front of another medical student.
  • Carter pretends he has no money.
  • Carter's medical student is sick.
  • Chloe shows up.
  • Greene says I'm in.
  • Greene tries to leave, and gets held up.
  • Greene forgets an appointment because he is so busy in the ER.
  • Greene is rude to a patient or a member of staff.
  • Hathaway is rude to Jeanie.
  • Hathaway goes on a date.
  • Jeanie gets in a fight with Hathaway about that's a nurses job.
  • Jeanie tells someone she is HIV positive.
  • Jerry tells someone he is the emergency services coordinator.
  • Jerry appears in a fancy dress costume.
  • Lewis flirts with Greene.
  • Lewis gets in an argument with another doctor.
  • Lewis is called Big Suzie.
  • Lewis brings Little Suzie into the ER.
  • Ross makes a pass at someone.
  • Ross says Kiddo.
  • Ross plays with a child's hair.
  • Ross acts fatherly to Charlie.
  • Ross is seen playing basketball.
  • Weaver is made fun off.
  • Weaver fights with another doctor.
  • Weaver kisses someone's ass.
  • Anyone orders O negative blood, a Chem-7, a CBC or a Head CT.
  • Anyone mentions Hathaway's suicide attempt.
  • Anyone asks Has anyone seen Carter?
  • Anyone turns up in inappropriate clothes.
  • Anyone reports Multiple Gunshot Wounds or GSW.
  • Any of the staff are asleep and are woken up.
  • A gang member comes in as a patient.
  • The staff watch an accident on Television, then prepare for it to come in.

Take a gulp if:

  • Benton makes it to a family engagement.
  • Benton messes up a procedure.
  • Benton appears to actually care about a patient.
  • Carter crouches, holding stethoscope, after a frustrating day/night in ER.
  • Carter is drunk while on call.
  • Greene actually leaves the ER.
  • Greene complains about his wife/daughter.
  • Greene fights with Ross.
  • Jeanie goes on a date.
  • Lewis has Ross examine Little Suzie.
  • Lewis has anyone in ER look after Little Suzie.
  • Morganstern tells Greene to control Ross.
  • Ross calls or threatens to call social services.
  • Ross jeopardises his career.
  • Ross saves his career.
  • Ross visits Hathaway, while off duty, at an inappropriate time and is rejected.
  • Weaver makes a recommendation to Greene.
  • An elderly patient or terminal case wants to die.
  • Anyone dies.
  • The nurses mention striking.
  • One of Chloe's boyfriends shows up.
  • You make a diagnosis before the ER staff do.

Chug your entire drink if:

  • Benton shows responsibility for his child.
  • Benton says anything kind about another staff member.
  • Carter saves anyone's life.
  • Greene goes on a double date with Ross.
  • Hathaway is held hostage.
  • Jeanie gets back together with Al.
  • Lewis kisses Greene.
  • Ross rejects a woman's advances.
  • Anyone plays Doom on the computer.
  • The nurses go on strike.

Drink everything in sight if:

  • Greene sleeps with Lewis.
  • Weaver gets rid of her walking stick.
